Taigi, šiandien Macallan ir Caperdonich. Macallan distilerijos turbūt nereikia kažkam labai pristatinėti. Tik tiek, kad dabar tai kolekcionierių ir „fliperių” (ne, šiuo atvejų kalbu ne apie delfiną) džiaugsmas, nors visas dabartinis autoritetas buvo pastatytas, kai distilerijai pirmoje vietoje buvo kokybė.
Caperdonich distilerija daliai žmonių yra mažiau žinoma. Oficialiai dar vadinama Glen Grant Nr. 2, kadangi naudojo tą patį salyklą, vandenį ir turėjo tą pačią pot still formą. 2002 metais buvo uždaryta, 2011 metais nugriauta. Nugriovus distileriją, pot still nebuvo sunaikinti, o buvo parduoti Belgian Owl ir Falkirk distilerijoms. Tad Caperdonich dvasia vis dar sklando.

Tad, pradėkime šios dienos sesiją nuo Macallan viskio. Panašu, kad viskis buvo brandintas ex – burbono statinėse. Statinė turbūt kažkur tarp pirmo ir antro pildymo? Taigi, mažiau kalbų. Nosis. Tvirtas, charakteringas ir su įvairiais kvapais. Aitrumas, žoliškumas, žuviškumas, mieliniai blynai, o gal labiau mielės? O tai gal kažką „normalesnio” iš kvapų? Sviestiniai sausainiai, vanilinis cukrus, bounty, grietininiai saldainiai, saldus salyklas. Būtų gėda nepaminėti, kad viskis saldžiai vaisiškas. Mangas, bananas ir persikas. Ir visus šiuos kvapus suriša aitrūs prieskoniai ir žuviškumas. Neslėpsiu, gera ir įsimintina nosis. Ir nematau dėl ko labai kabinėtis. Trumpais momentais pagaunu kartono kvapą. Visgi neatsilaikiau. Skonis. Čia tas pats aštrumas ir charakteris ima viršų. Kodėl ne? Pradžioje saldus salyklas, kuris pereina į saldžius vaisius. Tokius, kaip bananas, melionas ir greipfrutas. Skonyje, kaip ir kvape jaučiasi stiprus ir aitrus žoliškumas. Ąžuolo, taip pat gerai atseikėta. Citrusų žievelių kartumas irgi neatsilieka. Toks gana sunkus skonis ir jokio lengvo pasivaikščiojimo. Poskonis. Aitrus, šildantis, šviežias, kartokas. Vidutinio ilgumo. Mano trys centai. Pakankamai geras ir smagus viskis. Ypač įvertins tie, kurie mėgsta aitrius, kartokus, prieskoningus viskius. Visgi manau, tai buvo pirmo pildymo statinė, kuri buvo pakankamai aktyvi. Beabejo distiliatas irgi nepėsčias. Tas kartonas ir didelis ąžuolo kiekis mane sulaikė nuo didesnio įvertinimo. 86 taškai

Caperdonich 1996/2017, 20YO, 46.4%, Cadenhead’s, Closed Distilleries, Bourbon Hogshead, 264 buteliai, NCF/NCA/SC/CS
Interessant, 46,4% liko tik po 20 metų. Spėčiau, kad statinė truputi „lykino”? Bet koks gi skirtumas, jei viskis po visko vis tiek išlieka geru? Tad, tikrinam. Kvapas. Pirmi įkvėpimai nuteikia labai pozityviai. Taigi, kas čia darosi? O, taip, kalnas irisinių saldainių. Toliau seka stiprus vaisiškumas. Išskirčiau žalią obuolį, kriaušę, galbūt melioną. Dar paminėčiau keptus lazdyno riešutus, skrudintą medį, saldžius prieskonius, kremiškumą, citrusų rūgštelę. Ir buvę, kur nebuvę vėl lenda irisiniai saldainiai. Ei, tai puiki nosis. Prieš ragaujant, tas irisas ir skrudintas salyklas gali nuteikti tik labai optimistiškai. Skonis. Prasideda su nedideliu žoliškumu, kuris pereina į įvairius skrudintus skonius. Išskirčiau tokius: kepti obuoliai, karamelė, skrudintas salyklas, meduoliai, šokoladiniai kepiniai. Beabejo, skonis nėra toks visiškai keptas. Yra ir šviesių properšų: kaip šviežiai skinti vaisiai, mentolis, žalioji arbata ir obuolio kauliukas. Bet po to vėl grįžtam prie to pačio, tik su daugiau žoliškų prieskonių, kurie tik truputi paaštrina visą šią skonių paletę. Poskonis. Prieskoningas, lengvai aštrus, žoliškas, bet tuo pačiu gaivus ir keptas. Tad skoniai čia truputi pjaunasi, bet nieko baisaus. Mano trys centrai. Kokybiškas ir puikus „kaperis”. Kuo labai patiko, kad šis viskis turi visko po truputi ir visa tai visai gerai suvaldyta. Gal ir yra ne visai puikių akimirkų, bet tai tik akimirkos, kurios nesutrukdo įžvelgti pilno paveikslo. Nors, tai ir ne Van Gogas. 88 taškai
