Taigi, pirmasis salyklinis viskis iš Kingsbarns distilerijos, apytiksliai trejų metų brandinimo. Kompozicija sudaro 90% pirmo pildymo burbono statinės (Heaven Hill) ir 10% STR (Shave, Toast, Rechar) vyno statinės. Viskis brandintas, ne taip toli distilerijos esančiuose, brandinimo sandėliuose. Keliaujam prie viskio. Nosis. Jaunas, gaivus, gėliškas, žoliškas ir šiek tiek besižnaibantis. Trumpais momentais pagaunu „miško uogos” dvelktelėjimą, bet iš esmės, šį reikalą gerai maskuoja vyno statinės. Asmeniškai, būčiau naudojęs šiek tiek daugiau vyno statinių, kad iki galo tai subalansuoti. Kas toliau… obuoliai, kriaušės, raudonos uogos, geltonos slyvos, šviežiai pjauta mediena. Prieskoniai irgi nesnaudžia: vanilė, cinamonas, imbieras. Skonis. Vėl imbieras, įdomu. Jaučiasi „miško uoga”, bet skonyje vyno statinės geriau subalansuoja, nei kvape šią natą. Viskis mediškas, žoliškas, prieskoningas. Toliau seka vanilė, bazilikas, pelynas. Skonis jaunas, aitrokas, lengvai apveliantis burna. Manyčiau vyno statinių panaudojimas yra geras žingsnis. Viskis įdomesnis, gilesnis, įvairesnis. Poskonis. Medis, raudonos uogos, prieskoniai. Stebėtinai ilgas poskonis. Mano trys centai. Beabejo, viskis jaunas, „žalias”, „kampuotas”. Trumpai tariant, tiesiog šiam viskiui reikia laiko. Pats distiliatas netuščias, pilnas gyvybės, su didžiuliu potencialu tolimesniam brandimui. 83 akys

Prisimenu, kai prieš 6-8 metus skaitinėjau apie šią distileriją ir buvau stipriai suintriguotas. Pradedant salyklo auginimu ir baigiant viskio brandinimu, distilerija viską atlieka vietoje esančiame ūkyje. Distilerija priklauso Cuthbert šeimai ir veikia tada, kai ūkyje yra laisviau, tai yra vidurvasarį ir žiemą. Per metus užpildoma apie 100 statinių tolimesniam brandinimui. Beabejo, viskio gamyba nėra pagrindinis pinigų šaltinis šiame ūkyje. Cuthbert šeimos didžiausias uždarbis yra gaunamas iš salyklo auginimo, o didžiausias pirkėjas yra Macallan distilerija. Nosis. Labai egzotinė, pilna, gyva, labai švari, tiesiog įtraukianti. Egzotiniai vaisiai, kaip ananasai, mangai, bananai, persikai, kriaušės. Yra ir prieskonių: cinamonas, vanilė, anyžius. Po šių smagumų seka sviestiniai sausainiai, sūdyti žemės riešutai, karštas sviestas, migdolai, kokoso pienas. Laikas viskiui padeda atskleisti juodojo šokolado natą. Skonis. Kvape akivaizdžių ąžuolo kvapų neradau, o skonyje jų tikrai yra. Pipiras, rudasis cukrus ir medis žaidžia su kitais skoniais, kaip vanilė, karamelė, juodasis šokoladas, Tinginys. Egzotinių vaisių skonyje mažiau, bet jie čia. Taip pat yra iriso, citrusų, migdolo ir lazdyno riešutų skonių. Pats skonis kremiškas, aliejingas. Poskonis. Saldokas, salykliškas, su pipirų, medaus ir citrusų natomis. Mano trys centai. Ačiū, jiems už kantrybę, kad laukė ir neskubino pirmųjų viskių. Po šito festivalio kyla tik du norai…paragauti statinės stiprumo ir paragauti šio viskio dar po dvylikos metų tolimesnio brandimo. Beje, nepasakyčiau, kad šis gėris mėgsta vandenį, labiau orą ir laiką. 90 akių
