Sveiki. Šiandien peržvelgsime pora salyklinių viskių iš Arran distilerijos. Vienas salyklas iš nepriklausomų, o antrasis oficialus pilstymas. Vienos statinės pilstymas, prieš didelį „batch”. Taigi, keliaujame prie pirmojo salyklinio viskio.

Arran 20YO, 1996/2016, 49.8%, UD – bottler, Brothers Wienegge, Sherry Puncheon ir Pineau de Charente Finish, Statinės Nr. 1641, 481 butelys, NCF/NCA/SC/CS
Pirmiausia brandintas 19 metų chereso statinėje, o paskutinius savo metus praleidęs pirmo pildymo Pineau de Charente bačkoje. Kas tas „Pino”? Nefermentuotos vynuogių sultys sumaišytos su nebrandintu konjaku (Eau de Vie) ir tada brandintos ąžuolo statinėse. Užteks, žiūrim kas čia „primakaluota”. Nosis. Prasideda nuo stipraus, kieto ir aliejingo kvapo. Chereso kvapas stipriai sumišęs su „kažkuom”. Beabejo, tai Pineau statinė. Manyčiau „Pino” per tuos trumpus metus sugebėjo paimti viršų. Kas toliau? Juodieji pipirai, džiovinti abrikosai, tamsus medus, šviežiai kirstas ąžuolas, raudonos uogos (braškės?), juodoji arbata ir meduoliai. Negaliu nepaminėti, kad radau sieros – degtukų ir konjako užuomenų. Savotiškai įdomus, keistas, ąžuoliškas ir ne kiekvieną dieną sutinkamas kvapas. Viskis ir konjakas. Nepasakyčiau, kad aš fanas tokio derinio. Skonis. Vėlgi raudonos uogos, daug ąžuolo ir jo aitrumo.Džiovinti vaisiai ir tamsus medus. Praėjus kuriam laikui išlenda žoliškumas, sūdyti riešutai, vaisiai, rozmarinas, vaškas, pipirai ir salyklo saldumas. Momentais jaučiu tą patį konjaką, kurį radau kvape. Nemanau, kad alkoholis gerai integravęsis į patį viskio skonį. Momentais, tai jaučiasi gana ryškiai. Poskonis. Vidutinio ilgumo. Ąžuolas nepalieka mūsų ir šioje vietoje. Aitrūs prieskoniai, žoliškumas, siera ir vaisių saldumas. Mano trys centai. Manau didelis ąžuolo kiekis, jauno viskio aitrumas ir balanso nebuvimas stipriai kiša koją šiam smagiam viskiui. Atmetus tai arba būnant tokio stiliaus viskio gerbėjui šis viskis tikrai patiks. Manau Pineau statinės panaudojimas nebuvo kažkokia „superinė” idėja. 83 taškai. Ne per daug nuskriaudžiau?

Oficialus leidimas. Distilerija gyvenanti jau daugiau, kaip du dešimtmečius ir jau spėjusi susirinkti gana platų gerbėjų ratą. Taigi, ar gali jis būti geresnis, nei vienos statinės pilstymas? Greitai sužinosim. Nosis. Nors viskis atskiestas iki 46%, bet nosis vistiek galinga, aromatinga ir apnešanti. Kvapas švarus, gaivus ir truputi jūriškas. Momentais lenda druska, vaisiai ir čili pipirai. Tęsiam? Beabejo. Salyklas, švieži grūdai, žoliškumas, džiovinti ir švieži vaisiai. Truputi prieskoningo ąžuolo natų. Dar išskirčiau citrusus, kartųjį šokoladą, mėsos prieskonius. Kvapas nėra super kompleksiškas, bet ką daro, tai daro labai gerai. Balansas aukštumoje. Skonis. Čia skonis taip pat nestabdo ir turi daug charakterio, gero balanso ir jūriškumo. Niekas iš skonių neiškrenta iš bendros simfonijos. Lazdyno riešutai, citrusų žievelės, kartusis šokoladas, žoliškumas ir truputis sūdytos karamelės. Negaliu pamiršti prinokusių vaisių, juodųjų pipirų, džiovintų vaisių, vanilės ankšties ir kokoso drožlių. Tokia nekomercinė salyklinio viskio kompozicija. Pilnai pritariu 46% pilstymui. Poskonis. Ilgas ir šaldantis. Saldūs vaisiai, salyklas, kartusis šokoladas, galbūt citrusai. Jei teisingai supratau, tai čia ką tik užsidirbo vieną balą plius. Mano trys centai. Nosis aukštumoje. Ir ką tik šis viskis stipriai sudarkė vienos statinės leidimą. Galbūt per daug nėra nutolęs nuo oficialios 18 metų versijos, bet aš matau kodėl jie išleido vyresnę versiją. 88 taškai. Siekti didesnio rezultato reikėjo gilesnio ir kompleksiškesnio skonio. Kita vertus puikus viskis. Gaila, kad negaliu dabar pat palyginti su nauju 21-erių leidimu.
