Sveiki kolegos ir ne tik. Kaip jau supratote tęsiu temą apie 2018 metų Diageo specialius leidimus. Pirmoje dalyje radau porą ištikrųjų specialių leidimų ir vieną ne visai. Tad, jeigu leisit, yra tik vienas kelias išsiaiškinti kas ir kaip. Uodžiam, ragaujam, apšnekam.

Caol Ila 15YO, 59.1%, Amerikinio (hogsheads) ir Europinio (butts) ąžuolo statinės, CS, 2018
Per savo viskio karjerą esu ragavęs tik keletą „unpeated” Caol Ila salyklinių viskių. Vieną iš jų tikrai pamenu: 8 metų brandinimo ir su dosniais 64.2% laipsniais, kurie bandė mano burnos galimybes. Gal ir nebuvo pati maloniausia patirtis, bet tai buvo pirmas kartas, kai ragavau tokią Ila. Ir žinot, kaip būna su pirmais kartais? Juos prisimeni. Nosis. Ok, labai nedaug durpės, bet tikrai randu minerališkumo ir medžio anglies. Pats kvapas pilnas, galingas, sausinantis, gal kiek suspaustas. Balta duona, riešutai, įvairūs sodo vaisiai, balti pipirai, grūdai, miltai, galbūt truputis baziliko. Laikui bėgant, po truputį vis didėja saldumas. Užuomina apie sviestinius sausainius. H2O. Ne kažin kas pasikeitė. Atsirideno keletas citrusų ir tiek. Skonis. Lengvai saldokas, minerališkas, gaivus, sausas, ąžuoliškas ir pjaunantis burną. Alkoholis integruotas visai puikiai. Šviežios bandelės, sodo vaisių saldumas, apyniai, salyklas, vanilė, karamelė ir daug ąžuoliško prieskoningumo. Panašu, kad ir čia randu gana suspaustą skonio profilį dėl didelės alkoholio koncentracijos. Reikia H2O. Daugiau vaisių saldumo, aitrių prieskonių, minerališkumo. Poskonis. Trumpokas. Šiek tiek aitrumo ir kartumo. Ne kažin kas čia vyksta. Truputis citrusų rūgšties ir salyklo. Mano trys centai. Nesu tikras apie šį leidimą. Ragaujasi gerai, bet nėra kompleksiškas ar pilnas veiksmo. Tiesiog turintis daug jėgos kvape ir skonyje, o po to darosi nuobodu. Užsidėti pliusą įdomu, bet gal jie tiesiog toliau sau kasa durpes. 83 taškai.

Pirmas šios distilerijos salyklinis viskis šiuose namuose. Ak, tie pirmi kartai. Labai įdomu. Distilerija buvo pastatyta 1974 metais ir „net” po 19 gyvavimo metų buvo uždaryta 1993 metais. Savo laiku gaminusi salyklinį viskį Bell maišytų viskių „blendui”. Cha, pats viskis vyresnis už pačią distileriją. Nosis. Pilnas, sodrus, elegantiškas, minerališkas ir truputį besikandžiojantis. Kas toliau? Parafinas, kokosas, citrina, baltas vynas, biskvitas, vanilė, salykas ir anyžius. Momentais apčiuopiu tropinius vaisius ir juodą arbatą. H2O. Švelnesnis ir gaivesnis. Daug žalių obuolių, medus, truputis kivių ir sausas sidras. Skonis. Saldokas, lengvai prieskoningas, salykliškas, arbatiškas. Citrusų kartumas, salyklas, lager stiliaus alus, apyniai, beržų sula, biskvitas, arbatžolės, bazilikas, kažkokie citrusai. Momentais jaučiasi minerališkumas, medus ir baltas vynas. H2O. Čia taip pat puikiai veikia vanduo. Dar geriau išreikšti skoniai. Neprarastas intensyvumas. Lengvas sūrumas ir vitamino C tabletės. Poskonis. Ilgas iš šildantis. Arbatiškas ir prieskoningas. Sausas ir žoliškas. Mano trys centai. Gana keistokas derinys nosyje ir skonyje, bet tai nesutrukdo šiam viskiui rasti savo kelio. Kompleksiškas ir gilus. Puikus balansas. Beabejo, kaina turbūt pats blogiausias dalykas, kuris nutiko šiam viskiui per visus jo gyvenimo metus. Bet jei bus galimybė, ragaukit, gal ir jūs mėgausitės kaip aš. 90 taškų.

Manau šie Lagavulin leidimai yra tapę klasikiniais, jei ne, tai ateityje tikrai taip nutiks. Beje, paskutinį kartą ragavau 2014 metų kompoziciją, kuri buvo verta net 91 taško. Ir čia, nori ar nenori, tikiesi kažko panašaus. Nosis. O, taip, tas pats puikus dvyliktukas. Pilnas, galingas, švarus, gaivinantis ir lengvai mentoliškas. Beabejo, čia pasitinka saldi durpė, smėlis, druska, rūkstantis laužas, mėsos rūkykla, šviežia guma, mentolis, medžio anglis, jūros žolės. Momentais vaistai, meskalis, degantis šienas ir juodos alyvuogės. H2O. Gaivesnis, skaidresnis ir dar labiau pjaunantis nosį. Mažiau durpės ir daugiau vaisių. Jodas, plastilinas, rūsys ir propolis. Momentais žalias obuolys, juoda duona ir citrusų rūgštumas. H2O. Vaisiškai saldesnis. Ledinukai, tamsus medus, citrusų aliejus ir pelenai. Ir vėl vanduo veikia puikiai. Poskonis. Ilgas, saldokas ir minerališkas. Citrinos, medžio anglis, juodos alyvuogės, nesurūkyta cigaretė ir skrudintas medis. Mano trys centai. Kiekvienais metais ši Laga kiek kaitaliojasi, bet labai aukšta kokybė niekur nedingsta. Iš esmės, net kai kurie matematikos apibrėžimai turėtų pavydėti. Čia nėra išimčių. 90 taškų.
