Sveiki. Žinau ką jau pagalvojot. Maždaug, kur tu buvai prieš daugiau nei du metus? Paprasta. Dar nebuvo gimusi šios svetainės mintis. Taip, taip, mes vis dar tokie jauni, kad dar net negalėtume vadintis viskiu. Vis dar viskas prieš akis…darželis, mokykla, pirmoji meilė ir taip toliau 😀
Bet gal visgi grįžtam. Kaip žinote kompanija Diageo kasmet išleidžia specialius leidimus skirtus tiems metams. 2018 metai nebuvo kažkuo išskirtiniai ir turėjo 10 skirtingų viskių. Ir jei neklystu, tai buvo pirmieji metai, kai tarp „Special Releases” nebuvo nei Port Ellen, nei Brora. O, gaila.

Prisimenu, kai pamačiau pirmą kartą šį „Triple Matured in a Five Cask” užrašą, pagalvojau, „what the hell”? O receptas labai paprastas (kur gi ne). Brandintas europinio ąžuolo ex-chereso ir amerikinio ąžuolo ex-burbono statinėse. Antrinė branda atlikta ex-PX ir ex-Moscatel vyno statinėse, o visai tai apvesdinta europinio ąžuolo Puncheon tipo statinėse (įtarčiau, kad tai buvo įvairių pildymų port statinės). Sviestas sviestuotas. Nosis. Malonus, vaisiškas, salykliškas ir kvapnus. Grūdų malūnas, sodo vaisiai, šviesus medus, apelsinų žievelės, biskvitas, cinamonas ir lazdyno riešutai. Laikui bėgant stiprėja šlifuoto ąžuolo kvapas, bet nėra dėl ko pergyventi. H2O. Gilesnis, aromatingesnis, kompleksiškesnis. Gal net kiek parfumuotas. Tad atsargiai su vandeniu. Skonis. Kas gi dedasi skonyje po šitokio žongliravimo su statinėmis? Aitrus, kartus, taniniškas, stipriai prieskoningas, karštas, rūgštokas ir saldus. Manau balansas ne visai ten. Perspausta. Citrusų žievelės, cinamonas, mėsos prieskoniai, skrudintas medis, arbatžolių arbata, žali obuoliai ir salyklas. H2O. Geresnis balansas. Apelsinų žievelės ir medus. Poskonis. Vidutinio ilgumo. Labai prieskoningas, aitrus ir taniniškas. Mano trys centai. Nosis buvo labai labai, o skonis tai toks „ai tiek to”. Kažkuriam brandinimo etape buvo daug aktyvaus ąžuolo. Kvapas išties puikiai sukurptas, nors gana skirtingas nuo skonio. Gal visgi buvo ne port statinės, o naujo ąžuolo. Beje, išdistiliuotas 2002 metais. Hmm, 14 metų? 83 taškai.

Distilerija apie kurią mažai kalba ar labai domisi, bet savaime tai nieko nereiškia. Tiesiog dar ne visai atrasta. Įkurta 1871 metais. Naudojanti trumpą fermentacijos laiką. Distiliatas turintis svorio. Ši distilerija yra priskiriama prie „Coastal” stiliaus salyklinių viskių, bent Diageo taip ją įvardina. Nosis. Piktokai elegantiškas, švarus, labai prieskoningas, kremiškas, kiek uždaras, sausas ir arbatiškas. Pradžia išties įdomi. Kas toliau? Įvairių arbatžolių arbata, džiovintas tabakas, skrudintas medis, čiobrelio nata, vanilė, kokoso minkštimas, kepta žuvis. Ir vis tas uždarumo jausmas. Šitam reikia H2O. Persikas, melionas, sodo vaisiai, kreida ir banano žievė. Ir panašu, kad visai gerai suveikė. Skonis. Vėlgi, labai prieskoningas ir kiek uždaras. Dar pridėčiau taninus, arbatiškumą ir saldumą. Gana tirštokas. Kažkur viduryje skonio trumpa užuomina apie Clynelish: medus, parafinas, minerališkumas. Ruginė duona, riešutai, sodo vaisių saldumas, bananai, kramtomas tabakas, vanilė, citrusai ir žoliškumas. Beje, išties daug ąžuolo, bet negaliu skųstis. Balansas geras. H2O. Prieskoningumas ir ąžuolas kiek pasilpsta. Atsiranda daugiau saldumo ir vaisių. Poskonis. Labai ilgas. Švelnus, kartokas ir šiltas. Arbatžolių arbata ir šiek tiek kakavos. Mano trys centai. Kvapas toks, kad gali tyrinėti ilgai ir nebus nuobodu. Vis kažką randi. Poskonis, atrodo, kad begalinis. Skonis kiek silpnesnis, jei tai galima vadinti silpnumu. Apibendrinant – kitoks viskis su savo šarmu. 89 taškai.

Maišytų salyklinių viskių kompozicija. Šiam „blendui” parinkti viskiai iš distilerijų, kurių salykliniai viskiai yra priskiriami prie „coastal” stiliaus. Taigi, kas padėjo sukurti šį viskį?Caol Ila, Lagavulin, Oban, Talisker, Clynelish ir Inchgower. Skanus sąrašiukas. Tad, kaip jie tarpusavy dera. Nosis. Jūriškas, truputį „dirty”, dūmiškas ir minerališkas. Panašu, kad čia groja Lagavulin ir Caol Ila smuikai. Kas toliau? Talisker ir Clynelish. Druska, kreida, medžio anglis, juodieji pipirai, džiovinti vaisiai, rūkytas kumpis, BBQ padažas, medus ir parafinas. H2O. Dūmas truputį sėda. Atsiveria vaisių saldumas, vyšnios, šiek tiek sieros ir šalto laužo natos. Vanduo puikiai tinka. Skonis. Ryškus dūmiškumas. Saldokas. Tada prisideda druska, medžio anglis, tabakas, cinamonas, citrinos, juodieji pipirai, aštrus mėsos padažas, jalapenas, skrudinti riešutai ir imbieras. Šiek tiek tamsaus medaus ir džiovintų vaisių. H2O. Saldesnis, vaisiškesnis ir dar labiau suderintas. Poskonis. Charakteringas, ilgas ir saldžiai dūmiškas. Pipirai, mėsos prieskoniai, bazilikas, kreida. Mano trys centai. Kas už tai yra atsakingas? Ką? Puikiai suriktuotas viskis. Gaila, kad neradau Oban, bet gal tiesiog, kad jo dalis buvo mažiausia. Arba jis, kaip skiedinys plytoms. Bet kokiu atveju niūriais žiemos vakarais šis viskis tikrai pakeltų ūpą. 87 taškai.
