Sveiki. Jauna Wolfburn distilerija jau spėjo atkreipti į save dėmesį, kaip gaminanti kokybišką viskį. Bet ši distilerija susiduria, kaip ir daugelis kitų jaunų distilerijų, su laiko problemomis. Bet negalima visko bendrinti. Yra viskio mėgėjų, kuriems tik duok jaunų viskių. Tad viskas išlieka gana reliatyvu. O kas kalbant apie Wolfburn, tai jų 8 – 12 metų viskiai jau greitai mus pasieks. O kol laukiam, galima žvilgtelėti ką iki šiol jie yra sukurę.

Wolfburn 4YO, 2013/2017, 50%, Vibrant Stills, Alba Import Exclusive, Bourbon Casks, 1440 buteliai, statinių nr. 446/447/449, NCF/NCA, OB
2013 metais sausio 25 dieną pirmasis distiliatas pradėjo bėgti šioje jaunoje, bet manau daug žadančioje, distilerijoje. Senoji Wolf Burn distilerija buvo atidaryta dar 1821 metais, bet neilgai trukus buvo uždaryta apie 1845 – 1855 metus. Kitas įdomus faktas, kad tai yra šiauriausia distilerija žemyninėje Škotijos dalyje. Nosis. Jau per atstumą jauti, kad saldūs vaisiai šoka lauk iš taurės. Kažkiek primena vyresnius airiškus viskius. Bet čia tie vaisiai labiau mėsingesni, sunkesni ir aliejingesni. Tada atakuoja čiulpiami saldainiai ir salyklo saldumas. Melionas, obuolys, cukruotos kriaušės, buratinas, vanilė, medis, šviesus medus, kokoso minkštimas ir lengvas citrusų rūgštumas. Medis gerai integruotas, nors pats distiliatas jaučiasi. Kita vertus, nieko nuostabaus. Šiek tiek gėliškas. Skonis. Aha, čia daugiau svorio. Nėra taip lengva. Medis truputį triukšmauja, kaip ir prieskoniai. Medus, vanilės ankštis, taninai, juodoji arbata, salyklo saldumas, bonbonkės. Gana stipriai sausinantis burna, bet tuo pačiu ir šiek tiek aliejingas. Vaisių galima rasti ir skonyje. Citrusų aitrumas taip pat čia. Visumoje, skonis gerai suregztas. Jaunumas ir ąžuolas mušasi į viršų, bet kiti skoniai gana gerai visa tai maskuoja. Poskonis. Trumpokas. Prieskoningas, su vanile, ąžuolo kartumu ir kaulavaisių rūgštumu. Mano trys centai. Tarp nosies ir skonio daug sąsajų. Tik skonis labiau aitresnis, galingesnis ir prieskoningesnis. Iš tiesų padorus leidimas. Belieka sulaukti vyresnių Wolfburn viskių…Sakykime 8 – 12 metų. 84 taškai.

Lengvai „pytinta” Wolfburn versija. Salyklas įdurpintas iki 10ppm. Viskio amžius siekia 4 – 4.5 metų. Kad nebūtų taip sausa, štai dar keletas faktų. Distilerija naudoja ta patį vandenį, kurį naudojo kitados egzistavusi Wolf Burn. Įspūdinga. Šios distilerijos vandens rezervuaras yra perdarytas „wash back”, kuris buvo kažkada naudotas pagal paskirtį jau uždarytoje Caperdonich distilerijoje. Nosis. Taip ir galvojau, kad viskio durpiškumas bus toks lengvai plevėsuojantis. Besipinantis su įvairiais sodo vaisiais. Pridėčiau dar tokius reikalus… Šaltas laužas, anglis, degintas medis, smilkstantis šienas, ant kepsninės kepti vaisiai ir daržovės. Momentais truputi lenda muiliškumas. Manau tai galėjo iššaukti gėliškumas ir durpės panaudojimas arba tiesiog viskio jaunumas. Ąžuolo mažai, o ir tas puikiai slepiasi už durpės. Šiaip kvapas smagus, šviežias, gaivus ir švarus. Skonis. Palyginus su Vibrant Stills, kūno ir aliejiškumo mažiau. Čia tik dėl 4% skirtumo? Rūkytas kumpis…sorry lašinių nebuvo. Lengvas metališkumas, spygliuočių sakai, kepti žemės riešutai, skrudinta apelsinų žievelė, rūkyta vanilė (tokia būna?). Galbūt šiek tiek druskos ir jūriškumo atsiranda su laiku ir vandens panaudojimu. Mano supratimu lengvas durpiškumas ir viskio jaunumas pakankamai gerai kontaktuoja, ypač skonyje. Poskonis. Trumpokas, keistai lengvas su žemės riešutais, vaisių ir salyklo saldumu. Mano trys centai. Skonyje iš tiesų daug „fun” akimirkų, o nosyje to pasigedau. Na, bet negali dėti ant laužo. Laikas viską surikiuos į savo vietas. Tik tiek. 82 taškas.

Ir ne, nebus trečio viskio. Distilerija tokia, kad tikrai negalima paleisti iš akių. Vyresni viskiai, kurie bus išleisti, jau tikrai ne už kalnų! Šiandien baigiam. Iki kitų susiragavimų. Likite sveiki ir stiprūs.
