Laba. Intro paskirsiu pirmajam viskiui. Kiek iš mūsų yra girdėję žodžius „Cradle Mountain” arba „The Small Concern Whisky Distillery”? Ši distilerija buvo įkurta 1996 metais ir savo laiku buvo viena iš pirmųjų, kuri išbandė „Franklin” salyklinius miežius. Prabėgus keletui mėnesių nuo įkūrimo, distilerijai baigėsi pinigai. Tad Andrew Morrison aplankė Škotijoje Campbeltown regione įsikūrusią Cadenheads kompaniją. Beabejo, įvyko ragautuvės ir Cadenheads skyrė 25000 dolerių tolimesnei veiklai. Bet neilgai trukus ir tie pinigai pasibaigė, o distilerija 1997 metais buvo uždaryta ir išardyta.

Cradle Mountain 24YO, 1996/2021, 52.7%, Cadenheads World Whiskies, Ex-Cabernet statinė, Tiražas 180 butelių, NCF/NCA/SC/CS
Tad tokia trumpa ir gana liūdna istorija. Kai pagalvoji ši distilerija paskubėjo apie 5 – 8 metus, kai viskio bumas prasidėjo apie 2002 – 2004 metus. Ir galbūt viskas būtų buvę kiek kitaip. Gal prie viskio grįžtam? Primenu, tai nėra finišuotas viskis, tai 24 metus mirkęs viskis ex-Cabernet vyno bačkoje. Nosis. Sausa, lapiška, taniniška, uogišką ir aštri. Tik įpylus į taurę ir įkišus nosį, atrodė, kad tai ant ąžuolo riekės užtepta uogų ir kaulavaisių uogienė. Po daugiau nei pusvalandžio vis dar žvėriškai vyniškas. Žemės riešutai, karamelė, stipriai skrudinta bandelė, šlapias medis, vaisinis jogurtas, pastovėję bananai, kompostas ir kažkoks daržoviškumas. H2O. Bando imituoti chereso bombas. Saldi grietinėlė, lazdyno riešutai ir džiovinti vaisiai. Skonis. Oh mein gott… Medžio anglies, taniniškumo, kartumo ir žemės riešutų sprogimas burnoje. Kiek nurimus, apsireiškia vyšnių ir braškių saldainiai ir sūdyti migdolai. Šitokiais tempais galima ir burną prarasti ir ragautuves užbaigti ties čia. H2O. Paryškėja medžio dūmas ir atsiranda biterio skonis. Poskonis. Vidutinio ilgumo. Dūmas, medžio lapai, medžio dulkės, kava, kaulavaisiai ir jų kauliukas. Mano trys centai. Buvo daug emocijų, įdomios patirties ir sėdėjimo ne savo rogėse. Tai yra istorija, net jeigu ji kartais nėra graži. Jei kažkokiu būdu šis gėrimas atsidurs jūsų rankose, neatidarinėkit…neverta. Pasilikit ir po 30 metų parduosit už daug ir galbūt kažkas paragaus ir sakys „koks puikus gėrimas” ir tai tikrai nebūsiu aš. 75 taškai.

Tai nėra kažkoks labai naujas leidimas, labiau pamirštas senas ir geras, kuris prieš daugelį dešimtmečių buvo maišomas tos pačios Cadenheads kompanijos. Seno leidimo neteko ragauti. Būtų kažkas tokio, jei atsirastų galimybė juos palyginti. Baigiam „daydreaminti”. Nosis. Aromatingas, pilnas, saldus, uogiškas ir turintis charakterio. Galbūt ir nėra labai kompleksiškas, bet yra labai malonus. Nesinori ištraukti nosies. Vyšnios, kriaušės, obuoliai, galbūt braškės, šviežiai džiovinti vaisiai ir fermentuoti citrusiniai vaisiai. Laikui bėgant „grain” viskiai kiek išryškėja, bet salyklinių viskių dalis manau yra išties nemaža. H2O. Šviežesnis, gaivesnis ir gal kiek parfumuotas. Kažkiek prasimuša šviežias medis ir uogų ledinukai. Tik keletą lašų ir viskas bus gerai. Skonis. Geras kūnas, besiveliantis burnoje ir charakteringas. Tropinių vaisių ir salyklo saldumas, tamsus medus, parafinas, kažkokia užuomina apie dūmelį, vanilinis cukrus, karamelė ir keletas momentų apie raudonas uogas. Skonyje atrodo, kad „grain” viskiai jaučiasi geriau. H2O. Truputį sumažina grūdiškumą. Ir vis dar puikiai išlaiko kūną ir charakterį. Vėlgi tik keletą lašų ir jūs saugūs. Poskonis. Kažkur tarp vidutinio ir ilgo. Džiovinti sodo vaisiai, citrusai ir riešutai. Mano trys centai. Išties šaunus, nepretenzingas, smagiai ragaujamas blendas. Kaina 35 svarai, sakyčiau gana teisinga už tai ką pasiūlo. Manau sudėtyje turėtu būti ir keletas vyno statinėse brandintų viskių. 84 taškai.

Ardbeg 26YO, 1994/2021, 47.4%, Cadenheads Authentic Collection, Burbono statinė (hogshead), Tiražas 210 butelių, NCF/NCA/SC/CS
Tikiuosi 47.4% stiprumas nesusijęs su jokiais blogais dalykais, kurie galėjo atsitikti šiai statinei. Nosis. Taip, pakankamai ramus, elegantiškas, pilnas, labai kvapnus, vaisiškas ir truputį saldokas Ardbeg’as. Kas toliau? Šaltas laužas, pelenai, naujos padangos, plastmasė, jodas, neapdirbta medvilnė, sūdyti migdolai, rūkyta žuvis, batų tepalas, mėsos prieskoniai, mentolis ir citrinos. Visada stebiuosi, kai tokie kvapai randa kelią į balansą ir kompleksiškumą. H2O. Kažkiek žvitresnis ir gilesnis. Sumažėjęs durpiškumas ir dūmiškumas. Toks dviprasmiškas jausmas. Ar visgi reikia čia vandens? Skonis. Vėlgi charakteris panašus į kvapo. Ramus, jūriškas, susigulėjęs ir kiek praradęs garą. Eukaliptas, rūkyti riešutai, rūkyta žuvis, lašiniai, ąžuolo prieskoningumas, durpiškas salstelėjimas, druska, juodi pipirai, citrusų aliejus, kriaušių ledinukai ir medžio anglis. Apveliantis burną. H2O. Saldesnis ir su daugiau charakterio. Tikslesnis, švaresnis ir kartesnis. Citrinos. Manyčiau vanduo čia reikalingas jeigu norite daugiau charakterio ir ilgesnio finišo. Poskonis. Ilgas, šildantis, ramus ir jūriškas. Druska, citrinos, juodieji pipirai ir truputis rūkyto kumpio. Mano trys centai. Žodžiu, imate dvi taures. Vieną šiek tiek skiedžiat, o kitą ne. Mačiau Cadenheads ruošia antrą pavasario leidimą. Ir vienas reikalas ten užkliuvo, tai „pytintas” Annandale viskis. Tad jei bus galimybė kibsim ir į antrą leidimą. Šiandien tiek ir iki kitų greitų susiskaitymų. Likite sveiki ir stiprūs.
